Our client which is a well-established brand in the financial services industry has an opening for a solutions architect.  This role can be done remotely for the most part but requires living in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Five to seven years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
• Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements.
• Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture.
• Ability to estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
• Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
• Demonstrated experience of leading virtual teams made up of business and technology resources.
• Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize workload
• Strong communication and influencing skills with business and technology subject matter experts.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in multiple programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Powershell, C#, etc.
• Experience working in Agile delivery
• Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL.
• Experience building cloud-native applications
• Experience with API’s
• Experience with cloud computing (preferably AWS) including certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect)
• Experience with application deployment automation
• Experience in 1 or more of the following technology areas. Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Application Development, Database technologies, Cloud computing (AWS, Azure)
• Experience working with the design, integration and/or support of vendor packages within an overall enterprise architecture.
• Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes

Responsibilities:

• Working with the lines of business, support staff, and technology areas, to design a technical structure based on the existing standards and processes and meets the strategic needs of the business and integrates with other business and IT Processes.
• Providing integrated systems analysis and recommending appropriate hardware, software and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy within their domain. This may include coordinating activities of the project team and assisting in the monitoring of project schedules and costs.
• Ensuring projects align with strategic capabilities, target architectures and technology standards
• Conducting peer reviews of solution designs and recommending improvements to the architecture.
• Conducting detailed review of configuration to support a permit to build review where appropriate
• Reviewing new reference patterns and working with stakeholders to build cost estimation for the delivery of capabilities
• Creating and maintaining application automation scripts using tools such as Jenkins/BitBucket

Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
