Job Description

ENGIE is seeking a Digital IT Director and hands-on technology leader to provide both strategic direction and tactical management for the Digital & IT function supporting our Retail power and gas business. As part of the Customer Experience team, this leader is responsible for the development of technology investment cases, resource management, technical solution design and delivery, management of the technology landscape, and day to day support of the DevOps team. A collaborative and results oriented individual with strong program management capability is essential to identify and drive new uses of technology to improve and grow the business

What you’ll do:

  • Ability to Partner with Business Management:
  • Ability to develop, deliver and maintain a Digital & IT roadmap consistent with the Retail Business Plan. This includes maintaining the technology landscape and roadmap aligned with the business strategy.
  • Ability to provide and discuss technology business solutions with key business stakeholders and articulate the technical options to align with business needs.
  • Responsible for the development of technology investment business cases coordinating with business sponsors. Also develop and drive Digital business cases that not only create efficiencies but create new growth opportunities for the business
  • Responsible for the delivery of solutions to support the changing needs of the business with an optimal level of investment in tools and technologies.
  • Ability to challenge the business to leverage technology effectively and efficiently, through improved business processes, timely access to business-critical information and knowledge
  • Ability to work with Business Operations to prioritize work requests; Ability to plan and complete maintenance and upgrades successfully; Ability to plan and deliver IT projects successfully.
  • Experience in managing an Digital & IT team with proven methodologies:
  • Prior experience successfully managing an IT development and support organization of similar size and scope. Experience leveraging Agile methodologies and developing personnel as they transition from tradition IT methodologies.
  • Experience working with a product organization leveraging mature product frameworks (eg. Pragmatic framework)
  • Must have prior experience in meeting IT Control audit expectations and enforcing the use of standard processes and procedures within the IT Team. Adhere to Corporate IT standard technologies utilized by ENGIE
  • Strong technical experience with relevant technologies
  • Experience with configuration and support of enterprise business applications used for Retail Supply (Siebel, Lodestar, Salesforce, SAP, etc)
  • Experience with Retail billing solutions and integration with front and back office tools.
  • Experience developing custom solutions leveraging the latest cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)
  • Integration - Ability to develop both tactical and strategic plans leveraging the BU platforms. Experience with Integration Platforms (Boomi, Mulesoft, etc) a plus
  • Reporting – knowledge of analytics and big data reporting platforms. Ability to understand the business and develop reporting recommendations
  • Understanding of IT security and ability to work with security professionals to implement and support best practices
  • Experienced with both “Premise” and “Cloud” technology solutions to properly manage the most optimum for application architecture.
  • Knowledge of mobile technology and how to incorporate into the IT enterprise model while ensuring proper security, and governance
  • Ability to work successfully with and negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
  • Solid negotiation skills.
  • Ability to leverage vendor knowledge to benefit the company.
  • Ability to complete vendor and product assessments and provide a recommended action.
  • Strategic and Tactical Thinker; Ability to be forward-looking and strategic while delivering reliable IT services tactically.
  • Ability to manage product roadmaps and portfolio of projects, anticipate customer needs with an agile approach.
  • Proven track record of developing staff and creating a pipeline of talent Senior IT management professional.
  • Ability to function as both a working manager and a technology leader; a strategist and an operations expert. Energy industry knowledge is a must.
  • A responsible budget manager that makes the best use of available funds and meets budget expectations.
  • Ability to plan and work independently, ability to assess situations, make decisions and take responsibility for those decisions.
  • Ability to manage through planned or unexpected emergencies (ie. hurricane) or outages.
  • Good communications skills, oral and written; Diplomacy and professionalism to successfully interact with all levels of the organization including senior management.
  • Management skills and ability to successfully work with people at all levels of the company, including technology, business and management personnel.
  • Must be able to work non-standard hours including emergency situations.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

What you bring:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10-15 years Information Technology development/support experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and AGILE development frameworks, IT controls and best practices for development and support.
  • Experience with Enterprise platforms – Salesforce, SAP Finance, AWS and Azure platforms
  • 5+ years managing custom software development
