Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of software architecture and engineering to be able to manage all software development and lifecycle management tasks associated with developing and running software applications according to design specifications as well as managing development projects to budgets and timelines. The candidate should be highly collaborative and work to identify and implement improvements to the existing architecture. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Product, Finance, and R&D leaders to build the roadmap for the Software team and overall company strategy
  • Manage development teams to deliver high quality while managing and optimizing the team's capacity and deployment across projects
  • Owns creating and operating product development processes (Scrum, Agile, etc) that work in concert with product management's processes
  • Establishes project plans, timeline and implementation requirements for complex software products
  • Drives operational and technical team successes and outcomes, including - meeting benchmarks, prioritizing effective time and resource allocation across all team functions, and developing and executing team KPIs/OKRs
  • Owns module, system, integration and load testing for all product releases
  • Owns the quality and integrity if the product's code base
  • Provide technical and project management leadership across the Software Engineering team, leveraging professional depth, experience, and strengths of each team member
  • Represents the development function in product planning and prioritization decisions
  • Mentors the development team and builds culture

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development/engineering space
  • 5+ years of experience leading (30+ FTE) software development / Engineering organizations
  • BS in Computer Science and/or at least 10 years of experience in Computer Science or related field. A graduate degree is desirable.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in front-end, back-end, and dev ops
  • Experience in the as-a-Service space (e.g. IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Strong ability to communicate (verbal and written) to various global audiences at all levels, from engineers to executives, to key external stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of how to build and support applications for both internal use and applications for consumers
